Margaret was born on 24 October 1808 and her baptism took place on 5 November 1808 at St Helen's, Witton, Northwich, Cheshire.  Margaret's father was Thomas Senior and her mother was Elizabeth Jackson.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Senior and Margaret Bromfield; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Jackson and Martha. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, John, Thomas, Maria, Mary Ann, Mary and Ann.  She was the oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 66 on 1 November 1874.
