Ann was born in 1826.  Ann's father was Thomas Senior and her mother was Elizabeth Jackson.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Senior and Margaret Bromfield; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Jackson and Martha. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, John, Thomas, Margaret, Maria, Mary Ann and Mary.  She was the youngest of the eight children.
