John Booth

John was born in 1743 in Moreton cum Alcumlow, Astbury, Cheshire and his baptism took place on 7 April 1743 at St Mary's, Astbury, Cheshire.¹ John's father was Timothy Booth and his mother was Charlotte Booth. His paternal grandparents were Timothy Booth and Elizabeth Shaw; his maternal grandparents were Moses Booth and Martha Beckett. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Timothy, Thomas, Martha, Mary, Charlotte, Ann, Jane and Sarah. John and Ann were twins.
