Charlotte was born in 1711 and her baptism took place on 11 September 1711 at St Mary's, Astbury, Cheshire.  Charlotte's father was Moses Booth and her mother was Martha Beckett.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Booth and Sarah Simpson; her maternal grandparents were Allan Becket and Ellen Sutton. She had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, John, Allen and Mary.  She was the second oldest of the five children. She had two half-sisters named Hanah and Sarah.
