Timothy Booth

Timothy was born in May 1713 in Alcumlow and his baptism took place on 5 May 1713 at St Mary's, Astbury, Cheshire.¹ Timothy's father was Timothy Booth and his mother was Elizabeth Shaw. His paternal grandparents were Timothy Booth and Jane Booth; his maternal grandparents were John Shaw and Anna. He had a brother named Timothy. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 77 on 23 November 1790 in Dubthorn, Astbury, Cheshire. His burial was on 26 November 1790 at St Mary's, Astbury, Cheshire.

  In his will, made 16 Nov 1790 and proved 17 Feb 1791, he leaves his property in Alcomlow to his wife Charlotte, and leaves Black Mere Moss in Odd Rode to his grandson John Booth.
  
  He also leaves £100 to his daughter Martha Dutton, £150 to his daughter Mary Chester, £100 to his daughter Ann Furnivall,
  £100 to his daughter Sarah Harding, and £10 to his son-in-law John Harding.
  
  In a Codicil, he also leaves a large silver cup to his son Thomas Booth, and silver pint cup to his grandson John Booth.
  
  Witnesses to the will were: Charlotte Booth, Joseph Furnivall and James Delves.
  
  Joseph Furnivall is most likely his grandson (1768-1846), who would be 22 at the time.
