William Bennion

William was born on 18 June 1807 in Barthomley, Cheshire and his baptism took place on 1 November 1807 at St Bertoline, Barthomley.¹ William's father was John Bennion and his mother was Mary Cookson. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Bennion and Mary Martin; his maternal grandparents were John Cookson and Rebecca Croxton. He had four brothers and a sister, named Thomas, John, Joseph, Henry and Rebecca. He was the fifth oldest of the six children.
