The modern Moreton cum Alcumlow is a small village near Astbury. It is referred to in genealogical records as either Moreton or Alcumlow, but never both. Presumably the two villages were separate at some point. There are also small villages around known as Moreton-cum-Rode and Newbold Astbury-cum-Moreton, and there are also Little Moreton Hall and Great Moreton Hall in the area
