Catherine (Kate) M Havercan

Catherine, known as Kate, was born in 1878. Kate's father was James Havican and her mother was Maria Bowen. Her paternal grandparents were James Havican and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were James Bohan and Bridget Cannon. She had eight brothers named James, Matthew, Patrick, Thomas, Dennis, John, Michael and Bartholomew. She died at the age of 76 in 1954.

  Married James Scully in 1920 in Runcorn then moved to Parr, near St Helens. I (Peter) was taken there on a visit about 1952 by my grandparents (John & Ada). Obviously confusing the elderly lady with the name of the town I was visiting, I returned saying "I don't like Mrs Helens" which became a family saying for a number of years afterwards..
