John Bennion

John was born in 1769 in Balterley, Staffordshire and his baptism took place on 1 January 1770 at St Chad's, Wybunbury. John's father was Thomas Bennion and his mother was Mary Martin. His paternal grandparents were Robert Bennion and Esther Parks; his maternal grandparents were John Martin and Sarah Bostock. He had a sister named Anne. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 80 in 1849.

  The Wybunbury baptism is also in the LDS IGI. There are three records
  in the LDS Pedigree Resource file showing his birth as being in Barthomley, but Balterley in Staffordshire is more likely. This is 6 miles from Barthomley on modern roads.
