Seryna was born on 23 March 1884.  Seryna's father was Isaac Pimblott and her mother was Catherine Hitchens.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Pimlott and Sarah Robinson; her maternal grandparents were John Hitchens and Mary Raynor. She had three brothers and four sisters, named John, William, Thomas, Mary, Sarah, Catherine and Ann.  She was the youngest of the eight children.
