Harry Pidcock

Harry was born in March 1899. Harry's father was Henry Pidcock and his mother was Emily (Emma) Reynolds. His paternal grandparents were James Pidcock and Eliza Kennidy. He had a brother and a sister, named George and Sarah. He was the youngest of the three children. He died as a war casualty, Killed in action, at the age of 19 on 19 April 1918 in France or Flanders.¹

  53 Hope Street, Crewe, Schoolboy, aged 12. (1911 Census, RG14/21793) He and his parents (Henry and Emily) and his brother George, were living with his cousin Fred Harrison.
  
  Harry was Private 31614 in the 1/4th Battalion, King's Regiment (Shropshire Light Infantry). He was killed in action on 19 April 1918 in France or Flanders. He is commemorated at War Memorial, LNWR Steam Sheds, Crewe and Crewe War Memorial. Others from the same battalion who died the same day are commemorated at the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, Belgium, according to Roll of Honour.
