Mary Nicholson

Mary was born in 1893. Mary's father was Patrick (Paddy) Nicholson and her mother was Elizabeth Ellen Murphy. Her paternal grandparents were John Nicholson and Mary E; her maternal grandparents were John Murphy and Bridget Ellen Murphy. She had a brother named John. She was the older of the two children.

General Notes
- Family tradition says that Paddy's daughter was Jane, but there are no birth entries for Jane Nicholson in Prescot in the GRO indexes 1890-1899.
  
  There was a Jane Murphy registered Q1-1890 in Prescot (GRO 8b 740), but she was not living in Wareing Street at the 1891 Census.
  
  However, there is a Mary Nicholson birth registered in Prescot in Q2-1893.
  
  Lived at:
  10 Major Cross Street, Widnes, Age 8. She was living with her uncle, Patrick Featherstone. Her grandparents John and Ellen Murphy were also living there. (1901 Census, RG13/3514/137/P38, Sch 174)
