Samuel Bromfield

Samuel was born on 6 March 1796. Samuel's father was Thomas Bromfield and his mother was Cathrine Sadler. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Broomfield and Elizabeth Hill. He died at the age of 82 in 1878.

  The may be two Samuels involved here. One is married to Martha and is head of the family in 1861, and another who is a visitor in 1851 and brother-in-law in 1871. Or he may have been a brother-in-law all the time, and they lied about being married in 1861. I don't think marriage to a brother-in-law was legal at the time.
  
  The IGI has a marriage between Samuel Bromfield and Ann Shaw on 16 Dec 1817 at Davenham
