Martin Murphy

Martin was born on 3 November 1879. Martin's father was Martin Murphy and his mother was Sarah (Sally) Hoban. His paternal grandparents were Patt Murphy and Winifred Connor; his maternal grandparents were Patt Hoban and Mary McNulty. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Patrick, John, Mary, Nellie, Winifred and Bridget. He was the sixth oldest of the seven children.

- Born in Co Mayo, Ireland on 3 Nov 1879, and baptised 8 Nov 1879. Sponsors: Thomas and Bridget Hoban.
  
  Went to live in Bacup:
