Mary was born in 1876.  Mary's father was Isaac Pimblott and her mother was Catherine Hitchens.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Pimlott and Sarah Robinson; her maternal grandparents were John Hitchens and Mary Raynor. She had three brothers and four sisters, named John, William, Thomas, Sarah, Catherine, Ann and Seryna.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.
