Mary Pidcock

  • Lived in Knutsford Road, Grappenhall, Cheshire. Female Servant, age 25,  of Ann Rowson. (1841 Census. HO107/93/1/2/P1). Indexed as Pitcock in Ancestry.
           
    It is impossible to tell whether she is related to James Pidcock of Latchford, only a few miles away. She is not his sister from Salford, as she was married by the 1841 census.
    
    There are two Mary Pidcocks born in 1816 in the LDS IGI: One on 13 Jan 1816, Great Longstone, Derby; and the other  is James's married sister. The one from Derbyshire looks unlikely.
    
    Not found in 1851 census. FreeBMD has marriages for Mary Pidcock in Basford, Notts (1846) and Rotherham, Yorks (1850), and several death records, but none in Cheshire.
